CULTURAL FUSION: The Art of Virginia Maria Romero solo exhibit
was an interactive, multi-sensory exhibit concept designed by Virginia
Maria Romero where visual art meets spoken word. This interactive
exhibition pairs Virginia Maria Romero’s vibrant, culturally rich artwork
with audio recordings of her poetry, exploring the dynamic dialogue
between literary and visual expression, offering a unique exploration of
interpretation, collaboration, and artistic exchange through paired
audio recordings, allowing audiences to hear each poem while viewing
its corresponding piece at the exhibit in Las Cruces, NM. The show
highlighted Romero’s vibrant, culturally rich artwork and featured a
lively opening reception with live drumming and a closing book-signing
for SHALANITAWU.
